After not-so-little hours of printing with the good ol’ Makerbot, the RepRap wallace chassis is up 🙂
As you would notice, there are quite some areas of experimentation here. One is the hot end and the extruder. I’ve printed whosawhatsis’s MK7 extruder replacement on a custom carriage for a hot end which we’re going to try to make work.
For the hot end, we’re sourcing completely locally findable stuff. Findable in a small city in India, so you can be sure you’ll find it in your city!
The frame, as we notice, is not as sturdy as we would like it to be. It sure can use some work. However, the first print will tell how usable it is as such!
Over to the electronics! (I’ve bought a Mega 2560 board just for this, and had a stepper driver card lying around. We hope very soon these two will work together to create the first print 🙂
Until next time!
